Our purpose is to empower young kiwis to take the lead in this increasingly digital world.

Our story…

Summer of ‘18

Qisma Tech was first developed at the VUW Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in the summer of 2018/2019. Our founders saw that Aotearoa New Zealand was falling behind in tech education compared to our neighbours in Asia Pacific and so began the journey to create a curriculum that can prepare our tamariki for the ever growing and competitive world of tech.

Behind the Name.

The word Qisma is the name of the maternal grandmother of one of our founders, and it is the notion of passing down previous knowledge to support the future generations that drove this idea. Qisma means Destiny, Fate and therefore refers to our tamariki being the ones to utilise technology for a better future for all.

Our Purpose

We believe that children learn and experience the world best when they are active, and that’s why we have developed a number of collaborative and competitive games and activities that will enable these kids to learn and understand software and electronics concepts. We are also determined to be a useful tool for teachers to keep them up-skilled and up-to-date with the exciting and enormous world of tech.

Our values…

Education.

Our Products and services will have children utilise their curiosity and creativity to enable them to adapt and learn in the ever growing world of tech.

Our Promise to Aotearoa.

We believe that tech should be a way to support and improve our environment, economy and society.

Business

All industries are affected by technology and so we are determined to better prepare young kids for this inevitable future.
